Varada Place was an amazing hotel that exceeded our expectations. They even went above and beyond by writing a letter for me to a local store owner explaining my recent dental surgery. the beds were unbelievably comfortable, especially compared to other places we stayed in Asia. the location of the hotel was perfect, situated between the vibrant university street with its bars and the old city with its temples and markets. We also appreciated that the hotel took our feedback into account. Varada Place was the best hotel we stayed at during our time in Thailand, and we highly recommend it to others. We will miss the wonderful people here who made our stay so enjoyable. 😊.

It is the best budget hotel I have been in the last 15 years. I will book there again. Clean, light rooms and bathrooms, handy location, fairly priced.
Rooms are very clean, and complete for comfort, small balcony for drying the laundry. Nice and helpful people. Very strict "no smoking" policy.
from the 13 nights there were 6 nights that I woke up between 11pm - 3am by noisy guests coming back from town, calling, crying, slamming doors. A strict "silence" policy between 11pm and 7am would be welcome.. This can be policed by the night guard.

We had a wonderful stay at Varada Place in Chiang Mai. the staff was cheerful and competent, always trying to make our stay comfortable. the owner, Varada, was a friendly host and cat lover. She went above and beyond to answer all our questions and arrange excursions for us. the location was perfect, centrally located and within walking distance to all the attractions in Chiang Mai. the rooms were impeccably clean and the amenities, such as free water, tea, and coffee, were a nice touch.
Can't fault the property in any way! 😊.

The hotel's location was great, with easy access to both the old city and Nimman. Being close to both the Maya mall and a variety of cafes and restaurants was a big plus. the room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and good working AC. the free coffee in the lobby was a nice touch, and having a kitchen area with utensils was convenient for eating take-out. the wifi throughout the hotel was reliable.
The check-in process was a bit overwhelming, as the owner went through a long list of house rules in a not-so-friendly tone. It left a negative first impression.

We had a wonderful Christmas stay! the rooms were spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. the location was perfect - just a short walk to the main road where we could easily catch a tuk-tuk or songthaew. We loved being able to explore the city and visit the night bazaar without any hassle. Plus, there were plenty of bars and cafes nearby to enjoy some festive drinks and meals.
One thing to note is that the walls were quite thin, so we did hear some noise from other guests. It didn't bother us too much, but if you're a light sleeper, it might be worth bringing some earplugs.

Great place, we booked it a second time on our way back through Thailand! Love the kittens. The rooms are simple, pretty and clean. There is a cleaner that cleans your room every day. The room we stayed in also had a balcony which was nice, you can wash and hang clothes there. The room also has a TV that has many channels, even some English films. The staff are also very friendly! There are cats everywhere in this hotel so if you are a cat lover this is definitely the hotel for you! The rooms are comfortable and cleaned daily by a hardworking team. It's basic but clean and good value for money. There's a few bars and cafes on the same street. Although this hotel is set back from the main road so you don't get the noise, it's a short walk to the road which makes it easy to hail a tuk-tuk or songthaew. It's a little walk to the city centre and a tuk-tuk ride away from the night bazaar. The owner is really kind and showed us around. This is a lovely place with a big shopping city just opposite the main road, so lots of places to see and eat at. I would recommend this hotel for its great atmosphere, friendly staff, cozy rooms, and convenient location.

Comfortable rooms, clean facilities, and a helpful staff. We were initially given a noisy room, but the staff quickly resolved the issue and moved us to a quieter room. The location was a bit outside the main area, but it was still a manageable walk to the city center. The hotel had a nice seating area and provided free tea and coffee in the reception. It was also convenient to have a computer available for internet use and printing plane tickets. Additionally, the hotel had a breakfast area with all the necessary utensils for preparing our own food. The air conditioning in the room was quiet and effective. There was also a great laundry service nearby. I would recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Varada Place and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is clean and functional, with spacious rooms that felt like mini apartments. The owner, Varada, is a very kind lady who provides excellent service and is always available to assist guests. The location is great, near a shopping mall where you can do your shopping and banking, and there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. The hotel is also conveniently situated within walking distance of the old town or just a short ride away by taxi. One of the highlights of my stay was the complimentary bicycles that guests can use to explore the old town. I would highly recommend Varada Place to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.
Nothing at all! 😊
